The run, which offers half-marathon, full-marathon and 5K routes, gives runners an inside look at Fort Bragg, one of the largest military installations in the United States.
Half and full marathon runners began their journey at 7 a.m. in downtown Fayetteville, at Festival Park, then traveled through the beautiful historic district to the All American Freeway.
The course ends at the main post parade field at Fort Bragg, home of the U.S. Army Airborne and Special Operations Forces. Runners can then enjoy a post-run celebration at Festival Park.
The fun started as early as Saturday, when families gathered in downtown Fayetteville to compete in a race-style scavenger hunt. They completed challenges at businesses and landmarks in support of Fayetteville’s service members and families.
