CARY, North Carolina (WTVD) — A water main break has blocked a popular roadway in Cary, causing traffic delays.

It happened around 8 a.m. on Waldo Rood Boulevard near SW Cary Parkway.

The asphalt is cracked, leaving Waldo Rood Boulevard closed from Cary Parkway to MacArthur Drive and Cary Parkway at Waldo Rood Boulevard is reduced to one lane in the southbound direction.

It is unclear what caused the 30″ water main to break.

Officials tell ABC11 that no one is without water and that the repair could take up to 12 hours. All water is deemed safe for consumption at this time.

Businesses at the nearby Parkway Place Offices said at noon that they have water, but it there were sporadic outages.

Getting into the business was also a concern.

“The biggest concern with staff has been just getting here so everybody’s been in communication trying to direct other staff members into this parkway place,” said Dr.
