DURHAM, N.C. – Duke junior wide receiver T.J. Rahming has been named to the preseason Biletnikoff Award Watch List. The award is given annually to the nation’s outstanding college receiver by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation. The selection marks Rahming’s first on a preseason watch list.
Rahming, a 5-10, 165-pound Powder Springs, Ga., product, has earned preseason All-ACC selection by Phil Steele’s College Football Preview (3rd team) and Athlon Sports (4th team). In 24 career games (18 starts), Rahming has collected 113 pass receptions for 1,313 yards (11.62) and three touchdowns.
Last year, Rahming played in all 12 games with 11 starting assignments. He received the program’s Clarkston Hines Award as the most outstanding receiver after catching 70 passes for 742 yards (10.60) and one touchdown. Within the ACC, he ranked fifth in receptions per game (5.83), tied for fifth in 100-yard receiving games (3), 11th in receiving yards per game (61.83) and tied for 14th in receptions of 10 or yards (26). Rahming ended his year on a high note, logging three consecutive 100-yard receiving games, versus North Carolina (100), Pittsburgh (116) and Miami (117). On Duke’s single-season charts, his 2016 totals rank tied for fifth for pass receptions, tied for fifth for most games with 10 or more receptions, tied for ninth for most games with five or more receptions (8) and 21st for receiving yardage.
