DURHAM, N.C. – Just two home games remain for the Duke football team, which hosts Pittsburgh for a 12:20 p.m. kickoff Saturday against Pittsburgh. Live television coverage will be provided by the ACC Network.

During this week’s game, former Blue Devil head coach Steve Spurrier will be honored on the field in recognition of his upcoming enshrinement as a coach into the College Football Hall of Fame. Spurrier served as the head coach of the Blue Devils from 1987-89 and compiled an overall ledger of 20-13-1. The ACC Coach of the Year selection in both 1988 and 1989, he guided Duke to the ACC Championship and an All American Bowl appearance in 1989.

“I have a lot of Steve Spurrier thoughts,” head coach David Cutcliffe said. “Spurrier influenced a lot of us because he was a trend setter in throwing the football. He’s always been very, very fond of Duke and I knew that. He was encouraging in that regard and he thought this could be a great fit [for me] and a great opportunity. I have great respect for him. He’s a Hall of Fame player and a Hall of Fame coach, which is a rare breed.
