Raleigh, N.C. — New Carolina Hurricanes majority owner Tom Dundon says he’s ready to “get to work” and make sure the franchise becomes a winner.

The first formal step in that process comes Friday at noon, when the Dallas billionaire is formally introduced by the team.

Gold: A new era for the Hurricanes

Dundon’s will be joined for the “welcome-to-the-NHL” news conference by Commissioner Gary Bettman, previous majority owner Peter Karmanos Jr., General Manager Ron Francis and Team President Don Waddell. Watch the press conference live on WRALSportsFan.com or listen live on 99.9 FM The Fan.

Dundon said Thursday night he expects the franchise to win. The team agreed with him Thursday night as they downed the division-leading Capitals 3-1 in Washington.

Friday morning, Dundon fired off a first tweet thanking North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper for being one of the franchise’s “biggest fans.”

Just met with @RoyCooperNC. As one of our biggest fans, he demanded that we keep winning. We will do our best not to let him down!
