Knightdale, N.C. — Almost 2,300 Duke Energy customers in Wake County lost power early Friday morning, according to the company’s website.

The outage started around 3:30 a.m. and was caused by damage to the utility’s equipment in the area. The company estimated power would be restored by 9 a.m.

Most of the outages were north of Knightdale and outside of Interstate 540.

Outside temperatures at the time were around 20 degrees.
