Winston-Salem, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Rams football program announced its 2018 class of signees on National Signing Day, Wednesday. The next generation of Rams will be a talented group as the team addressed many areas of need with its 2018 signees.
“I’m really proud of the effort that our coaches put into this signing class,” WSSU head football coach Kienus Boulware said. “We addressed most of our needs today and we are still working on more to come.”
The Rams added some key players on offense and defense with their 2018 signees. The Rams will welcome four newcomers to the offensive line that dealt with some critical injury issues last season. The Rams offense also added a quarterback. Defensively, the Rams shored up a defensive line that lost some key seniors from last season. The Rams also shored up their defensive secondary that lost a pair of seniors from last season’s team. The Rams will welcome a pair of defensive backs along with a linebacker and a defensive lineman to join one of the top defensive units in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).
