ABOUT THE MINISTRY
Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church’s ministry is centered on faith in action—meeting both the spiritual and practical needs of its congregation and community. Through vibrant worship, Bible-based teaching, and outreach programs, the ministry embraces people of all ages and backgrounds, affirming its message that “You Belong Here.” Under the leadership of Dr. Christopher D. Stackhouse Sr., the church offers diverse ministries such as V.I.B.E Kids for children, J29 Student Ministry for teens, and adult Bible studies that promote growth and fellowship. Beyond its walls, Lewis Chapel serves Fayetteville and surrounding areas through mental health initiatives, homelessness relief, food and education programs, and community empowerment efforts, reflecting a steadfast commitment to transforming lives through faith, service, and love.

ABOUT PASTOR DR. CHRISTOPHER STACKHOUSE
Dr. Christoppher D. Stackhouse Sr. serves as the Lead Pastor of Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina. His journey in ministry began at the age of fifteen when he delivered his first sermon on his mother’s birthday, marking the start of a lifelong calling to preach and serve. He holds a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina A&T State University, a Master of Divinity from Wake Forest University, and a Doctorate in Ministry from United Theological Seminary. Since assuming leadership in 2016, Pastor Stackhouse has guided the church through remarkable growth, welcoming more than 1,300 new members while expanding community outreach programs focused on mental health, homelessness, food assistance, and education. Beyond his pastoral duties, he has been active in education and social justice, serving on the Board of Visitors at Fayetteville State University and previously on the Board of Trustees for Morehouse School of Religion. He has also been a leading voice in efforts against racism in Cumberland County, notably delivering the eulogy for George Floyd. A devoted husband and father of four—two sons and twin daughters—Dr. Stackhouse continues to lead with compassion, vision, and a deep commitment to faith in action.
